Majority and Right.

"If I had to give young writers advice, I'd say don't listen to writers talking about writing" - Lilian Hellman

Addressing young writers, Lilian Hellman aired her opinion in what seems to be a young writers' want-to-hear statement (i.e., what should I do as a young writer who wants to succeed in my writing career?). Well, she did justice.

Hellmann's piece of advice doesn't apply to writing; it could be applied to all facets of human endeavor/profession.

Could one ever say that Hellman was ignorant of the fact and need for young writers to seek advice regarding their pursuits in life which may likely help them? No. Hellman understood that some of these advice poses great fear and disbelief in oneself.

Sometimes those you seek advice from kills the to-do and to-be spirit in you, or still, inject in you something that will always question every progressive steps you take.

Some years ago(when I wanted entering the university), I went and seek advice from someone who'd sailed through the four walls of university. Guess what- the words I got from that fellow kept me aghast. I nearly changed my mind.

I am for Hellmann's view except that anyone who wants to seek advice should be able to bear both its glory and worries.

Seeking advice regarding your lay down plans isn't bad. But please, know who you get it from less the fear implanted in your mind by your advisor should shy you away from what should pave way for you.

Out of 12 spies sent by Moses(Numbers 13) to scout the promise land(Canaan), only 2 believed in themselves that irrespective of their sizes compared to the inhabitants of the said land(giants), that they can still defeat them and claim the promise land. 10 were men who went..., and are still going about instilling fear in people's lives today.

Understand: out of 12 persons, 10 as a majority who believe in impossibility is enough to drive your decisions around negatively if you aren't stable. Be careful!

"In life, you will rarely escape the stories of a 10 majority, and the still small voice of a 2 minority".
